Durable and sustainable solution at a landmark of Andalusia

Ojén is one of the pueblos blancos, the "white villages" near Málaga that are considered landmarks of Andalusia. Located between the nearby Costa del Sol and the mountains of Sierra de las Nieves, it is only a few kilometers away from Marbella. Both the approximately 4,000 locals and an increasing number of tourists enjoy the pleasant climate year-round. The abundant rain, exceptional for southern Spain, ensures lush greenery. Unlike other coastal towns, Ojén has avoided the construction errors often made in favor of mass tourism, preserving the traditional Andalusian architectural style of past centuries. Athletes at the Campo Municipal de Fútbol, 'El Arenal,' enjoy an exceptional view of the mountain village and down to the Mediterranean Sea. The sports field is situated on the opposite side of a valley carved deeply into the rocky landscape by the Arroyo de Almadán. It is part of a sports complex that also includes basketball courts, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. The football field features a covered grandstand and floodlights. In spring 2023, as part of modernization efforts, we installed our Polytan LigaTurf Cross. This sand-filled artificial turf combines smooth and textured filaments, whose individual benefits merge to create an ideal turf system. The smooth filaments ensure the look and feel of a real football pitch, while the textured filaments offer easier and reduced maintenance, improved stabilization of the infill, and overall enhanced turf volume. The unique aspect of Campo Municipal de Fútbol: The first artificial turf was installed there by Polytan back in 2005. Now, only the turf itself needed replacing, while the elastic base layer continues to be used.
