Athletics and tennis as sustainable and economical solutions

Oschiri is a small Italian municipality in northern Sardinia, not far from Olbia. The town and surrounding area are popular among tourists who appreciate agritourism. The local sports complex Campo Sportivo Sa Tanca Noa was fully renovated and expanded in summer 2022. It features a complete athletics facility with a six-lane circular track as well as an integrated sprint track, in addition to runways for long jump, high jump, and hammer throw. A newly renovated tennis court is also located nearby.All athletic tracks have been equipped with Rekortan M in brick red. The consistency of the Rekortan M running surface offers an optimal balance between excellent shock absorption and maximum acceleration – qualities valued in both middle- and short-distance disciplines.The surfaces were renovated by our installation experts using the so-called Re-Topping procedure. This method involves the technical and visual overhaul of worn and outdated synthetic surfaces. It is not only a particularly economical solution but also explicitly sustainable for the renovation of sports facilities, as the existing elastic substructures can continue to be used and therefore do not need to be disposed of.The tennis court next to Campo Sportivo Sa Tanca Noa was designed with the Laykold system, currently the leading sports flooring for the most major tennis events in the USA and Canada. Seven of the twelve most prominent hardcourt tournaments, including the U.S. Open, are played on Laykold here.The playing surface itself is dark blue, while the surrounding areas are light blue. The Laykold system comprises a textured resin with high-quality pigments and special quartz sand. It offers lasting cushioning and excellent force reduction.
