The region's oldest sports club modernizes its facilities

The small Italian town of Arco di Trento is located just five kilometers from Lake Garda. Its mild climate made it a popular holiday destination for European nobility in the 19th century, even serving as the winter residence of the Austrian imperial court. To this day, the enchanting landscape with parks and gardens, where palm trees flourish, continues to attract visitors. Besides the Arco castle ruins, the nearby Trentino mountains and Lake Garda draw numerous tourists. Due to its unique location, Arco di Trento is a popular destination for climbers, hikers, and mountain bikers. However, enthusiasts of other sports also find a welcoming space here – at the Centro Sportivo Via Pomerio. The sports complex is managed by USD Arco 1895 and ASD Atletica Alto Garda e Ledro. The former is the oldest sports club in the Trentino-South Tyrol region, founded in 1895 as a local branch of the Touring Club Ciclistico Italiano, primarily organizing outings and cycling races at the time.Th activities of Atletica Alto Garda e Ledro are equally impressive: year-round sports events aim to inspire young individuals. The founders particularly emphasized providing "everyone with the opportunity to practice athletics with enjoyment, supported by a strong organization." Today, athletic activities are guided by trainers who address the psychophysical and specific motor needs of every age group. In addition to youth programs, there is a master's department with more than 200 active athletes.Since 2005, when the last renovation of the sports complex from the 1980s was completed, 14 years of intensive usage led to the need for another update. Long jump, high jump, and javelin areas were fully restored and expanded. The running tracks, central grandstand and service building, and the adjoining bar were also revamped. Additionally, tennis courts were newly created. As soccer evolved into the dominant sport in Arco di Trento over the decades, a new natural grass pitch was installed.The old surface of the circular track was technically and visually renewed using Polytan Re-topping. The installed Rekortan M in reseda green is our professional sports flooring, offering excellent elasticity and acceleration. The perfectly tailored material meets athletes' needs, leading to top performances while providing long-term benefits such as exceptional shock absorption, protecting their joints.A highlight of Centro Sportivo is its integration with SmarTracks, our digital performance diagnostics system enabling athletes to optimize their performance through precise performance tracking. Magnetic time gates – SmarTracks Timing Gates – have been embedded into the running track. Since July 2020, the renovation work on Centro Sportivo has been completed, and Arco di Trento's track and field enthusiasts can once again make use of the modernized facilities.
