LigaTurf Cross in Ripollet, Spain

Perfect solution for a heavily used pitch

The Catalan town of Ripollet is located in northeastern Spain and is part of the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona. In the Municipal Football Stadium, home of the Club de Futbol Ripollet founded in 1921, a new Polytan artificial turf was laid in 2022 under the guidance and installation of the Spanish company Sports & Landscape: LigaTurf Cross. This infilled artificial turf combines smooth and textured filaments, bringing together the advantages of both turf types to create a durable surface. LigaTurf Cross is the ideal solution for heavily used professional training facilities of amateur and professional clubs as well as sports schools. In Ripollet, it is used by the various sub-departments of the Club de Futbol, including women’s teams, various youth categories, and even children’s groups. Additionally, members of the Escuela de Futbol Base Ripollet football school and Peña Deportiva Pajaril club also train here. Our LigaTurf Cross has since been further developed and adapted to new requirements. Today, it is available in several particularly environmentally friendly variants, including LigaTurf Cross R, which uses filaments made from recycled raw materials, and LigaTurf Cross GT zero, the world’s first CO2-neutral football artificial turf. It is largely composed of sustainable and bio-based PE raw materials derived from non-recyclable sugarcane.
