Méréville, located in the Essonne department of France, is nestled in the heart of the Île-de-France region. This small town, with around 3,000 inhabitants, has long been shaped by agriculture and is known as the capital of watercress cultivation in France. Among Méréville's notable landmarks is the Château de Méréville, built between 1768 and 1794, and undoubtedly the new Hautes Croix sports complex. This facility, including the adjacent stadium, underwent extensive renovations over six months. The updates went beyond just laying an artificial turf field to include a running track and long and high jump facilities, all equipped with surfaces by Polytan.
For the artificial turf, 8,198 m² of the LigaTurf RS Pro II was installed. This turf features a unique yarn design and material formula, offering outstanding playing properties and exceptional durability. Our innovative ENTANGLEMENT technology ensures an incredibly soft filament despite its high cross-sectional thickness. Its optimized cross-section provides playing characteristics akin to natural grass, with a long lifespan and minimal maintenance needs—ideal for professional-level games. Currently, the players of the US Saclas Méréville football club benefit from this technology.
The artificial turf field is bordered and visually accented by LigaGrass Pro CP in lining blue, which also covers the long and high jump facilities. This textured artificial turf system, covering 2,364 m², provides high volume and excellent structure, making it a true multifunctional talent. It serves as the perfect transition in Méréville from the artificial turf field to the running track. The integrated permanent CoolPlus function prevents the turf from overheating under sunlight.
The competition track and the surfaces for long and high jump facilities were implemented using Rekortan M, the professional solution among sports floors. Its standout features include excellent acceleration and high step elasticity. Exceptional damping ensures consistently elastic values. Rekortan M is a flow-applied, water-impermeable surface, spike-resistant, and ideal for competition tracks in athletics stadiums and school facilities. It is available in numerous colors; in Méréville, classic 'brick red' was chosen.
In the visually striking combination of rich green, intense blue, and vibrant red, Stade Hautes Croix stands out as a visual highlight in the heart of an ancient cultural landscape. It serves as the home of the local football club and the newly founded athletics club, Athlétic Club Mérévillois. The sports complex is also utilized by surrounding schools and the local Collège du Mérévillois. As part of this major investment of around 2 million euros—approximately 70% of which was subsidized—the city also added changing rooms, a snack bar, sanitary facilities, a ball catch fence, and floodlights.
